What we do
A stuck registration file is almost always stuck for one precise, identifiable reason. We read the documents you send us and tell you where the problem lies, in plain language.
- Consistency between the foreign registration document and the certificate of conformity (VIN, type code, category, number of seats).
- Consistency of weights and tyre sizes between the certificate and the actual vehicle.
- Verification of the declared category — M1, N1, N2 — and its consequences.
- Detection of cases where the expected certificate cannot exist: vehicle originating outside the Union, vehicle converted by a body builder, vehicle more than ten years old.
- Identification of the missing item when it belongs to a third party (body builder, importer, tax authority).
What we do not do
Worth writing down plainly, because the industry keeps this ambiguous.
- We are not a government service and we have no decision-making power over your file.
- We promise no outcome: the result belongs to the competent authority of your country of registration.
- We do not file your application with the administration on your behalf.
- We produce no document other than those the manufacturer issues to us. Producing a certificate ourselves would be forgery.
What we bring is a technical eye on documents we read all day — and a straight answer, including when it is disappointing.
The five most frequent blockages
- 1
The certificate is missing
The most common case, and the simplest: it is requested from the manufacturer. See our guide.
- 2
The category does not match
A commercial vehicle bought as a passenger car, or the reverse. Field J of the foreign registration document settles it. See the van guide.
- 3
The vehicle comes from outside the Union
It then has no European certificate, and no procedure will make one appear. See non-EU vehicles.
- 4
The vehicle has been converted
The manufacturer documents the chassis only; the missing item comes from the body builder.
- 5
A value does not match
Weights, tyres, number of seats: a single discrepancy between certificate and vehicle is enough to block registration.
How it works
Describe your situation and attach, if you have them, the foreign registration document and the certificate of conformity. We reply by e-mail with our reading of the file and the available options.
The terms of this service — free for a first analysis, or charged depending on complexity — are still being decided: they will be stated before any work is done, as with our other services.
