What is a European certificate of conformity?
The European certificate of conformity, or COC (Certificate of Conformity), is the official document issued by the manufacturer proving that your vehicle conforms to a type approved in the European Union. It sets out all the vehicle’s technical characteristics: dimensions, weight, emissions, engine, noise level and safety equipment.
Without a COC, it is impossible to obtain a registration certificate for a vehicle imported from another EU country. It is the cornerstone of any cross-border registration process.
